My Story

Hi, I’m Alex. I’m a life consultant who treats inner work like a rebuild.

I have Tourette’s, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. For years, my brain felt like a flood of signals I couldn’t sort. My body acted against my wishes, and I felt like a puppet on invisible strings.

I spent 13 of my most formative years in “treatment” — a combination of behavioral therapy and medication. By 20, I had learned control well enough to get off all my medication. That’s when the real work began.

Over the next 13 years, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lander College, worked in multiple roles supporting people with mental health conditions (including residential care and crisis response), transitioned into HR for a large healthcare company, and went back to school for my Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Baruch. From there, I learned the greatest skill of all: adaptability.

I became a consultant — first independently, then at one of the world’s largest firms, Ernst & Young. There, I learned how cutting-edge organizations design and implement successful change. I applied all of this knowledge to myself: studying how my body and brain communicate, noticing the signals between them, and finding proactive ways to respond.

I began designing simple methods to map those signals and turn them into structure. That became Cognitive Scaffolding Theory — a practical framework for understanding how patterns form and how we can reshape them.

How CST Works

CST explains how the brain builds internal scaffolds to manage information. Some scaffolds help. Some become cages. We trace them, then rebuild!

The Layered Metaphors

Tetris — Filtering layer: The brain's subconscious filter, sorting overwhelming input into quick, instinctive patterns.

Jenga — Stacking layer: Conscious experiences stack like blocks, shaping behaviors and emotional interpretations.

Coral — Branching layer: Experiences branch outwards, integrating into identity and adaptive systems over time.

Neural pathways — Network layer: At scale, these layers weave into a vast network of patterns, habits, and connections.

FAQs

I created Cognitive Scaffolding Theory after years of studying psychology, behavior, perception, and my own neurodivergence. It is a practical method that meets you where you are and helps you build where you want to go.

Is this therapy?

No. It is coaching with psychology‑informed tools. I do not diagnose or treat conditions.

Do you work with neurodivergent folks?

Yes. CST grew from that lived experience and supports all profiles with respect.

Do you work with neurotypical folks?

Yes, neurodivergent or neurotypical, our brains follow the same mechanics.

What if I am skeptical?

Good. Bring your questions. We test and measure. No magic, only practice.
